Maja Solveig Kjelstrup Ratkje (b. 1973) finished her composition studies in 2000, and his since become one of Norway's most musically versatile and critically acclaimed composers, writing for films, dance and theatre, installations, radio plays and numerous other projects in addition to more worldwide performances by prestigious performers, ensembles and orchestras, and she has received countless prizes and awards for her works. Maja is also active as a singer/voice user, electronics performer and engineer with a multitude of groups, often working with improvisation, and her recordings have been released by Tzadik, Rune Grammofon, 2L, ECM, Important Records, Pica Disk and other top-tier labels.
Frode Haltli (b. 1975) started playing the accordion at the age of seven. Beginning with folk and moving on to classical and contempory works, he swiftly developed exceptional instrumental skills alongside a deep understanding of new music. In his early years he won numerous national contests, raising interest in and appreciation of the accordion to unprecedented heights. Since graduating from his studies in 2000, he has performed with string quartets and orchestras, sinfoniettas and symphonic orchestras worldwide. with recordings released by ECM, Hubro, Simax and other labels.
Maja and Frode live together in Svartskog and have recorded this version of "Blueberry Daydream" with their daughters Marte and Frida. The family plays together under the name Blåbærtoppen Spelemannslag, which roughly translates as The Blueberry Hill Ramblers.

This album is an absolute delight, linking in very well with some of the recent albums done by Maja Ratkje. The link with Joik makes a lot of sense. Herlo
